Why see a psychologist?
Psychologists can help people function better, enjoy life more, seek help with difficult decisions or change, and deal with life problems.
Psychologists may assist a person to alter thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may be interfering with their daily functioning and lifestyle rather than provide pharmacological intervention. A psychologist may assist a person to manage a long-term mental illness via ongoing treatment.
What to expect
Any thoughts, feelings or behaviours that may concern you may be discussed with Sandra. Through her therapy sessions, she assists people to learn to think in new ways, see a wide range of alternatives, explore and trial new ways of behaving, and gain new perspectives and understanding. Psychological tests that provide greater insight into your thought processes and feelings may be used. Your individual needs are identified, and evidence-based psychological interventions are then tailored suit you.
The sessions involve a relaxed atmosphere where Sandra will work with you to discuss current situation and your goals. A plan would then be devised for subsequent sessions.
